كلمة زوجة الشهيد محمد نبوس " معني الحرية "

  • 0:02 - 0:04
In the name of God, the merciful, the compassionate
  • 0:04 - 0:08
First, I ask mercy for the souls of the martyrs, Libya's martyrs,
  • 0:08 - 0:14
and I pray that all the missing return to their families, safe,
  • 0:14 - 0:22
and that the wounded are healed, God willing.
  • 0:22 - 0:37
As for the martyrs of the media, whose weapons were a camera or a microphone or pen and paper,
  • 0:37 - 0:44
the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the word of truth,
  • 0:44 - 0:49
whose dream was to see Libya free.
  • 0:49 - 0:51
Mohamed, God have mercy on him, would always say
  • 0:51 - 0:58
"I don't fear death, I fear losing the battle."
  • 1:01 - 1:08
His dream was to see our daughter grow up in a free country.
  • 1:08 - 1:13
"Free Libya" was the phrase Mohamed kept repeating.
  • 1:13 - 1:16
So what does "free Libya" mean?
  • 1:16 - 1:27
"Free Libya" does not mean overlooking law, or twisting the law. It does not mean chaos.
  • 1:27 - 1:37
It does not mean rushing through red lights, and building anywhere you please.
  • 1:37 - 1:49
"Free Libya" means free of shackles, free of nepotism. It means transparency and democracy.
  • 1:49 - 2:00
A free Libya means an educated, civilised Libya, always aspiring to be better in the future.
  • 2:00 - 2:06
To be the country that we dream of for our children.
  • 2:06 - 2:15
"Free Libya," these are the words for which the martyrs sacrificed, in their thousands.
  • 2:15 - 2:20
So, to keep our oath to the martyrs, the missing and wounded,
  • 2:20 - 2:26
let us build this country together, for "Free Libya" will not materialize simply through a government or a council,
  • 2:26 - 2:34
it will come true only through the work of every Libyan man and woman.
  • 2:34 - 2:42
It will materialize through upholding the law and keeping order, and the responsibility is on everyone,
  • 2:42 - 2:45
to keep the promise to the martyrs, the wounded, the missing,
  • 2:45 - 2:48
and not only on one group or one person.
  • 2:48 -
    Thank you.
