Chase Dalton and The Fearless Mind

  • 0:05 - 0:07
    My name is Chase Dalton.
  • 0:07 - 0:08
    I
  • 0:08 - 0:13
was in a BYU track and field athlete. I'm a decathlete,
  • 0:13 - 0:14
which means I do 10 events.
  • 0:15 - 0:17
    It involves running, jumping, throwing.
  • 0:17 - 0:21
And it's just a huge amount of skills that you have to
  • 0:21 - 0:23
build up to be able to do each one of those 10 events.
  • 0:23 - 0:25
You know, before I started working with
  • 0:25 - 0:28
Dr Manning and implementing the fearless mind,
  • 0:28 - 0:33
I'd call myself a mediocre athlete. I was competitive.
  • 0:33 - 0:37
I'd be up there in the mix at some of the smaller meets,
  • 0:37 - 0:39
but when it came to the larger stage, I wasn't there.
  • 0:39 - 0:43
I had plenty of skills. I practiced a lot. I worked really, really hard
  • 0:43 - 0:45
    but,
  • 0:45 - 0:46
    that's not all it takes.
  • 0:46 - 0:50
Usually, you have to work not just hard, but you have to work smart.
  • 0:50 - 0:53
And so, when I started working with Doctor Manning in The Fearless Mind,
  • 0:53 - 0:54
    it
  • 0:54 - 0:55
    bumped me up,
  • 0:56 - 0:59
and not just the next level but into the elite level.
  • 0:59 - 1:01
By the next year after working with him,
  • 1:02 - 1:06
I made it to nationals, indoors and outdoors, in the NCAA,
  • 1:06 - 1:08
all American two times that year.
  • 1:08 - 1:13
After that, I went on to the US championships, placed fifth at the US championships.
  • 1:13 - 1:18
Earned my spot onto a US team. I was able to represent the country over in Germany,
  • 1:18 - 1:20
and I play seventh over there.
  • 1:20 - 1:23
It was a dream come true, a year that I had.
  • 1:23 - 1:26
It was really frustrating to feel like I was putting in so
  • 1:26 - 1:28
many years of my life and my heart and my soul.
  • 1:29 - 1:31
But I just feel like I'll spin my wheels and not getting
  • 1:31 - 1:35
the quick progression or progressing as fast or as much as I thought I would.
  • 1:35 - 1:38
    But after implementing Fearless Mind,
  • 1:38 - 1:43
it just accelerated that process exponentially to where
  • 1:43 - 1:45
I could say that I was getting better every single day, and I could see
  • 1:45 - 1:50
progress every day and every week and every month and my numbers were showing it.
  • 1:50 - 1:54
But not only does it help me, did it help me in athletics,
  • 1:54 - 1:58
but it helps me in everyday life. The skills that
  • 1:58 - 2:00
the Fearless Mind teaches you isn't just to
  • 2:01 - 2:04
improve your jump shot or your tennis swing. But
  • 2:04 - 2:10
these principles are real principles, like real true principles that help you
  • 2:10 - 2:10
    in
  • 2:10 - 2:13
your job, in your family life.
  • 2:13 - 2:13
    It
  • 2:13 - 2:19
it basically teaches you how it's taught me how to remove interference
  • 2:19 - 2:20
    from my life.
  • 2:20 - 2:24
We all have that little voice that's just like trying to tell us like, hey,
  • 2:24 - 2:26
don't do that or you can't do that or you're gonna fail.
  • 2:26 - 2:31
But what the Fearless Mind has done for me is teach me how to silence that voice
  • 2:31 - 2:33
    and to overcome it
  • 2:33 - 2:35
    and to conquer that
  • 2:35 - 2:38
and to excel in every aspect of my life.
