Hitchcock's Definition of Happiness

  • 0:01 - 0:04
Mr. Hitchcock, what is your definition of happiness?
  • 0:06 - 0:08
    A clear horizon,
  • 0:09 - 0:13
nothing to worry about, on your plate
  • 0:14 - 0:21
Only things that are creative and not destructive.
  • 0:23 - 0:27
And that's within yourself, within me..ahh
  • 0:27 - 0:33
    I can't bear quarreling, and I can't bear feelings
  • 0:33 - 0:37
between people, I think hatred is wasted energy.
  • 0:39 - 0:41
And it is all non productive.
  • 0:43 - 0:48
I'm very sensitive, a sharp word said
  • 0:48 - 0:52
by, say a person who has a temper,
  • 0:52 - 0:56
uhh, and if they are close to me, hurts
  • 0:56 - 0:58
me for days. I know we're only human
  • 0:58 - 1:03
and we do go in for these various emotions,
  • 1:03 - 1:08
call them negative emotions, but when all of these are removed
  • 1:09 - 1:12
and you can look forward and the road is clear
  • 1:13 - 1:16
ahead and now you are going to create something
  • 1:16 - 1:21
I thinks that's as happy as I would ever want to be.
