-
0:22 - 0:23New Year's Day in Persia
-
0:24 - 0:26was the most celebrated day
of the year. -
0:26 - 0:28Wonderful shows were prepared
-
0:28 - 0:30to entertain the King
and the Prince. -
0:31 - 0:33At the end of the program,
-
0:33 - 0:35a lone figure stood before the King
-
0:35 - 0:37with a beautiful horse.
-
0:37 - 0:38Your majesty, I beg thee,
-
0:39 - 0:41look upon this wondrous animal.
-
0:41 - 0:41It is not real,
-
0:42 - 0:43but an ingenious machine
-
0:43 - 0:45that will carry me anywhere I wish
-
0:45 - 0:48just by turning a peg.
-
0:48 - 0:50If true, it is indeed a wonderful animal,
-
0:50 - 0:52what is the price?
-
0:52 - 0:53It is not for sale, Sire,
-
0:54 - 0:54but I would exchange it
-
0:55 - 0:56for a portion of your kingdom.
-
0:56 - 0:58Well, for such a trade,
-
0:58 - 1:00I must know more about this horse.
-
1:00 - 1:01My son, Prince Prama,
-
1:01 - 1:03will test the animal for me.
-
1:03 - 1:05The owner started to
show the Prince -
1:05 - 1:06how to control the horse,
-
1:06 - 1:09but before he could tell him all,
-
1:09 - 1:11Prince Prama turned the peg,
-
1:11 - 1:12and away he flew.
-
1:12 - 1:14He doesn't know how to
bring it back! -
1:14 - 1:16It's a trick to kidnap the Prince,
-
1:16 - 1:17throw this man in jail
-
1:17 - 1:18until my son returns.
-
1:19 - 1:21As the horses owner was taken away,
-
1:21 - 1:23the King scanned the skies
-
1:23 - 1:25for the flying prince.
-
1:25 - 1:27But he was out of sight.
-
1:27 - 1:28High above the clouds
-
1:28 - 1:30flew the enchanted horse
-
1:30 - 1:31with the frightened prince.
-
1:31 - 1:33He traveled hundreds of miles,
-
1:33 - 1:36but he couldn't control the animal.
-
1:36 - 1:37He twisted the peg,
-
1:37 - 1:39but the horse continued
-
1:39 - 1:42to fly upward and onward.
-
1:42 - 1:44At last, he found a small knob
-
1:44 - 1:46behind the animal's ear.
-
1:46 - 1:47He gave it a turn,
-
1:47 - 1:49and the enchanted horse
started to descend. -
1:49 - 1:51As he came closer to earth,
-
1:51 - 1:55the Prince saw he was in a strange kingdom.
-
1:55 - 1:57I will be in danger if I am found,
-
1:57 - 2:00but I can't control the horse.
-
2:00 - 2:02The amazing animal carried
Prince Prama -
2:02 - 2:03toward a palace courtyard.
-
2:03 - 2:05After I land, I'll turn the peg,
-
2:05 - 2:08and maybe it will fly away again,
-
2:08 - 2:10perhaps right back to my own country.
-
2:10 - 2:13So intent was the Prince
on the controls, -
2:13 - 2:15that he didn't watch the archway
-
2:15 - 2:18through which the horse flew.
-
2:18 - 2:19He was knocked off the horse,
-
2:19 - 2:21into a courtyard.
-
2:21 - 2:22No one saw him.
-
2:22 - 2:24And while everyone crowded
-
2:24 - 2:25about the mysterious horse,
-
2:25 - 2:28Prince Prama hid in a room.
-
2:28 - 2:29After studying the horse,
-
2:29 - 2:31the King gave out an order.
-
2:31 - 2:34This is a most unusual animal.
-
2:34 - 2:35I shall give it as a gift
-
2:35 - 2:37to Princess Serena.
-
2:37 - 2:39Perhaps then, she will be my bride.
-
2:39 - 2:41Take the animal to the stable
-
2:41 - 2:42until I'm ready to give it to her.
-
2:42 - 2:45Prince Prama could hear the King's orders,
-
2:45 - 2:46and now he realized
-
2:46 - 2:49his chance of escaping was gone.
-
2:49 - 2:51Then, he heard someone sobbing.
-
2:52 - 2:53He discovered that he was in
-
2:53 - 2:55the room of Princess Serena.
-
2:55 - 2:57She was the most beautiful girl
-
2:57 - 2:59he had ever seen.
-
2:59 - 3:00She looked up, and saw
-
3:00 - 3:02the Prince staring at her.
-
3:02 - 3:03Who are you?
-
3:03 - 3:05I'm Prince Prama.
-
3:05 - 3:06I come from far away.
-
3:06 - 3:08Don't let them know I'm here.
-
3:08 - 3:10Oh, did my father send you
-
3:10 - 3:12to rescue me from King Agmir?
-
3:12 - 3:14No, but perhaps I could help.
-
3:14 - 3:16Tell me how you came to this place.
-
3:17 - 3:18Princess Serena then told
Prince Prama -
3:18 - 3:20the story of how she was captured
-
3:20 - 3:22by the powerful King Agmir.
-
3:22 - 3:25She must marry him
or be put to death. -
3:25 - 3:26I have an idea.
-
3:27 - 3:29If you pretend to be ill,
-
3:29 - 3:30the King will have to postpone
-
3:30 - 3:33any decision, until you are well.
-
3:33 - 3:35I'll hide out in the city,
-
3:35 - 3:37and return when the time is right.
-
3:37 - 3:39The Princess agreed, and she acted
-
3:39 - 3:41as if she were in a trance.
-
3:41 - 3:44And soon, the whole palace
was alarmed. -
3:44 - 3:45Word got to the King
-
3:45 - 3:47about her illness.
-
3:47 - 3:49Send for the best doctors
in the kingdom. -
3:49 - 3:50Each doctor who came,
-
3:50 - 3:52tried to cure the young girl,
-
3:52 - 3:54and each failed.
-
3:54 - 3:56Kind Agmir sent out a call
-
3:56 - 3:58to physicians from other lands.
-
3:58 - 4:00One day, a strange doctor
-
4:00 - 4:02came to the palace.
-
4:02 - 4:03I can cure the princess,
-
4:03 - 4:06but I must attend to her alone.
-
4:06 - 4:08When the doctor was alone,
-
4:08 - 4:09in the sick girl's room,
-
4:09 - 4:11he spoke to her.
-
4:11 - 4:13Princess Serena, arise,
-
4:13 - 4:15for it is time for us to leave.
-
4:15 - 4:17Prince Prama, it is you?
-
4:18 - 4:19Yes Serena, but we must
-
4:19 - 4:21play the game for a while yet.
-
4:21 - 4:23Now we will see the King.
-
4:23 - 4:27Sire, you see she is almost
cured already. -
4:27 - 4:29Now, some special,
-
4:29 - 4:30unusual gift from you
-
4:30 - 4:33may complete the treatment.
-
4:33 - 4:34How fortunate.
-
4:34 - 4:36I have been saving a most
unique horse -
4:36 - 4:38to give to the Princess.
-
4:38 - 4:39So the enchanted horse
-
4:39 - 4:41was brought to the palace.
-
4:41 - 4:43It's beautiful,
-
4:43 - 4:44may I sit in the saddle?
-
4:44 - 4:47Of course my dear, It's yours.
-
4:47 - 4:48Prince Prama helped
-
4:48 - 4:50Princess Serena up on the horse.
-
4:50 - 4:51Then he turned to the king.
-
4:51 - 4:54You see Sire, she is cured.
-
4:54 - 4:56Now, for my fee.
-
4:56 - 4:57Of course, good doctor.
-
4:57 - 4:59What is your wish?
-
4:59 - 5:01I wish the Princess myself!
-
5:01 - 5:03He jumped behind Serena.
-
5:03 - 5:05Never, she is mine!
-
5:05 - 5:06Guards, seize him!
-
5:06 - 5:08But the guards gaped in wonder
-
5:08 - 5:10as the horse rose from the floor
-
5:11 - 5:13and soared away.
-
5:14 - 5:16Out over the fields and mountains,
-
5:16 - 5:18the Prince and Princess flew.
-
5:18 - 5:19After many hours,
-
5:20 - 5:21Prince Prama looked below,
-
5:21 - 5:23and saw the palace of his father.
-
5:23 - 5:25The enchanted horse
-
5:25 - 5:26had brought them home.

5:27 - 5:27The King was delighted
-
5:27 - 5:29to see his lost son,
-
5:29 - 5:31and welcomed the Princess.
-
5:31 - 5:33Prince Prama told his father
-
5:33 - 5:34that Serena had consented
-
5:34 - 5:35to be his bride.
-
5:35 - 5:37The happy king released
-
5:37 - 5:38the owner of the horse,

5:38 - 5:40and granted him a part of the kingdom,
