    The Enchanted Horse
  • 0:22 - 0:23
    New Year's Day in Persia
  • 0:24 - 0:26
    was the most celebrated day
    of the year.
  • 0:26 - 0:28
    Wonderful shows were prepared
  • 0:28 - 0:30
    to entertain the King
    and the Prince.
  • 0:31 - 0:33
At the end of the program,
  • 0:33 - 0:35
a lone figure stood before the King
  • 0:35 - 0:37
    with a beautiful horse.
  • 0:37 - 0:38
    Your majesty, I beg thee,
  • 0:39 - 0:41
    look upon this wondrous animal.
  • 0:41 - 0:41
    It is not real,
  • 0:42 - 0:43
    but an ingenious machine
  • 0:43 - 0:45
that will carry me anywhere I wish
  • 0:45 - 0:48
    just by turning a peg.
  • 0:48 - 0:50
If true, it is indeed a wonderful animal,
  • 0:50 - 0:52
    what is the price?
  • 0:52 - 0:53
It is not for sale, Sire,
  • 0:54 - 0:54
    but I would exchange it
  • 0:55 - 0:56
for a portion of your kingdom.
  • 0:56 - 0:58
    Well, for such a trade,
  • 0:58 - 1:00
I must know more about this horse.
  • 1:00 - 1:01
    My son, Prince Prama,
  • 1:01 - 1:03
will test the animal for me.
  • 1:03 - 1:05
    The owner started to
    show the Prince
  • 1:05 - 1:06
    how to control the horse,
  • 1:06 - 1:09
but before he could tell him all,
  • 1:09 - 1:11
    Prince Prama turned the peg,
  • 1:11 - 1:12
    and away he flew.
  • 1:12 - 1:14
    He doesn't know how to
    bring it back!
  • 1:14 - 1:16
It's a trick to kidnap the Prince,
  • 1:16 - 1:17
    throw this man in jail
  • 1:17 - 1:18
    until my son returns.
  • 1:19 - 1:21
As the horses owner was taken away,
  • 1:21 - 1:23
    the King scanned the skies
  • 1:23 - 1:25
    for the flying prince.
  • 1:25 - 1:27
But he was out of sight.
  • 1:27 - 1:28
    High above the clouds
  • 1:28 - 1:30
    flew the enchanted horse
  • 1:30 - 1:31
    with the frightened prince.
  • 1:31 - 1:33
    He traveled hundreds of miles,
  • 1:33 - 1:36
but he couldn't control the animal.
  • 1:36 - 1:37
    He twisted the peg,
  • 1:37 - 1:39
    but the horse continued
  • 1:39 - 1:42
    to fly upward and onward.
  • 1:42 - 1:44
At last, he found a small knob
  • 1:44 - 1:46
    behind the animal's ear.
  • 1:46 - 1:47
    He gave it a turn,
  • 1:47 - 1:49
    and the enchanted horse
    started to descend.
  • 1:49 - 1:51
As he came closer to earth,
  • 1:51 - 1:55
the Prince saw he was in a strange kingdom.
  • 1:55 - 1:57
I will be in danger if I am found,
  • 1:57 - 2:00
but I can't control the horse.
  • 2:00 - 2:02
    The amazing animal carried
    Prince Prama
  • 2:02 - 2:03
    toward a palace courtyard.
  • 2:03 - 2:05
After I land, I'll turn the peg,
  • 2:05 - 2:08
and maybe it will fly away again,
  • 2:08 - 2:10
perhaps right back to my own country.
  • 2:10 - 2:13
    So intent was the Prince
    on the controls,
  • 2:13 - 2:15
that he didn't watch the archway
  • 2:15 - 2:18
    through which the horse flew.
  • 2:18 - 2:19
He was knocked off the horse,
  • 2:19 - 2:21
    into a courtyard.
  • 2:21 - 2:22
    No one saw him.
  • 2:22 - 2:24
    And while everyone crowded
  • 2:24 - 2:25
    about the mysterious horse,
  • 2:25 - 2:28
Prince Prama hid in a room.
  • 2:28 - 2:29
    After studying the horse,
  • 2:29 - 2:31
the King gave out an order.
  • 2:31 - 2:34
This is a most unusual animal.
  • 2:34 - 2:35
I shall give it as a gift
  • 2:35 - 2:37
    to Princess Serena.
  • 2:37 - 2:39
Perhaps then, she will be my bride.
  • 2:39 - 2:41
Take the animal to the stable
  • 2:41 - 2:42
until I'm ready to give it to her.
  • 2:42 - 2:45
Prince Prama could hear the King's orders,
  • 2:45 - 2:46
    and now he realized
  • 2:46 - 2:49
his chance of escaping was gone.
  • 2:49 - 2:51
    Then, he heard someone sobbing.
  • 2:52 - 2:53
He discovered that he was in
  • 2:53 - 2:55
    the room of Princess Serena.
  • 2:55 - 2:57
She was the most beautiful girl
  • 2:57 - 2:59
    he had ever seen.
  • 2:59 - 3:00
    She looked up, and saw
  • 3:00 - 3:02
    the Prince staring at her.
  • 3:02 - 3:03
    Who are you?
  • 3:03 - 3:05
    I'm Prince Prama.
  • 3:05 - 3:06
    I come from far away.
  • 3:06 - 3:08
Don't let them know I'm here.
  • 3:08 - 3:10
Oh, did my father send you
  • 3:10 - 3:12
to rescue me from King Agmir?
  • 3:12 - 3:14
No, but perhaps I could help.
  • 3:14 - 3:16
Tell me how you came to this place.
  • 3:17 - 3:18
    Princess Serena then told
    Prince Prama
  • 3:18 - 3:20
the story of how she was captured
  • 3:20 - 3:22
    by the powerful King Agmir.
  • 3:22 - 3:25
    She must marry him
    or be put to death.
  • 3:25 - 3:26
    I have an idea.
  • 3:27 - 3:29
If you pretend to be ill,
  • 3:29 - 3:30
the King will have to postpone
  • 3:30 - 3:33
any decision, until you are well.
  • 3:33 - 3:35
I'll hide out in the city,
  • 3:35 - 3:37
and return when the time is right.
  • 3:37 - 3:39
The Princess agreed, and she acted
  • 3:39 - 3:41
as if she were in a trance.
  • 3:41 - 3:44
    And soon, the whole palace
    was alarmed.
  • 3:44 - 3:45
    Word got to the King
  • 3:45 - 3:47
    about her illness.
  • 3:47 - 3:49
    Send for the best doctors
    in the kingdom.
  • 3:49 - 3:50
    Each doctor who came,
  • 3:50 - 3:52
tried to cure the young girl,
  • 3:52 - 3:54
    and each failed.
  • 3:54 - 3:56
Kind Agmir sent out a call
  • 3:56 - 3:58
    to physicians from other lands.
  • 3:58 - 4:00
    One day, a strange doctor
  • 4:00 - 4:02
    came to the palace.
  • 4:02 - 4:03
    I can cure the princess,
  • 4:03 - 4:06
but I must attend to her alone.
  • 4:06 - 4:08
    When the doctor was alone,
  • 4:08 - 4:09
    in the sick girl's room,
  • 4:09 - 4:11
    he spoke to her.
  • 4:11 - 4:13
    Princess Serena, arise,
  • 4:13 - 4:15
for it is time for us to leave.
  • 4:15 - 4:17
    Prince Prama, it is you?
  • 4:18 - 4:19
    Yes Serena, but we must
  • 4:19 - 4:21
play the game for a while yet.
  • 4:21 - 4:23
Now we will see the King.
  • 4:23 - 4:27
Sire, you see she is almost
    cured already.
  • 4:27 - 4:29
    Now, some special,
  • 4:29 - 4:30
    unusual gift from you
  • 4:30 - 4:33
    may complete the treatment.
  • 4:33 - 4:34
    How fortunate.
  • 4:34 - 4:36
I have been saving a most
    unique horse
  • 4:36 - 4:38
    to give to the Princess.
  • 4:38 - 4:39
    So the enchanted horse
  • 4:39 - 4:41
    was brought to the palace.
  • 4:41 - 4:43
    It's beautiful,
  • 4:43 - 4:44
may I sit in the saddle?
  • 4:44 - 4:47
Of course my dear, It's yours.
  • 4:47 - 4:48
    Prince Prama helped
  • 4:48 - 4:50
Princess Serena up on the horse.
  • 4:50 - 4:51
Then he turned to the king.
  • 4:51 - 4:54
You see Sire, she is cured.
  • 4:54 - 4:56
    Now, for my fee.
  • 4:56 - 4:57
    Of course, good doctor.
  • 4:57 - 4:59
    What is your wish?
  • 4:59 - 5:01
    I wish the Princess myself!
  • 5:01 - 5:03
    He jumped behind Serena.
  • 5:03 - 5:05
    Never, she is mine!
  • 5:05 - 5:06
    Guards, seize him!
  • 5:06 - 5:08
But the guards gaped in wonder
  • 5:08 - 5:10
as the horse rose from the floor
  • 5:11 - 5:13
    and soared away.
  • 5:14 - 5:16
Out over the fields and mountains,
  • 5:16 - 5:18
    the Prince and Princess flew.
  • 5:18 - 5:19
    After many hours,
  • 5:20 - 5:21
    Prince Prama looked below,
  • 5:21 - 5:23
and saw the palace of his father.
  • 5:23 - 5:25
    The enchanted horse
  • 5:25 - 5:26
    had brought them home.
  • 5:27 - 5:27
    The King was delighted
  • 5:27 - 5:29
    to see his lost son,
  • 5:29 - 5:31
    and welcomed the Princess.
  • 5:31 - 5:33
    Prince Prama told his father
  • 5:33 - 5:34
    that Serena had consented
  • 5:34 - 5:35
    to be his bride.
  • 5:35 - 5:37
    The happy king released
  • 5:37 - 5:38
    the owner of the horse,
  • 5:38 - 5:40
and granted him a part of the kingdom,
  • 5:40 - 5:42
    in exchange for the animal.
  • 5:42 - 5:44
    Later, when Prince Prama
  • 5:44 - 5:45
    and Princess Serena
  • 5:45 - 5:45
    were married,
  • 5:46 - 5:47
    the King gave them
  • 5:47 - 5:48
    the mechanical animal
  • 5:48 - 5:50
    as a wedding gift.
  • 5:50 - 5:51
    The young people rode away,
  • 5:51 - 5:54
to have many more wonderful adventures
  • 5:54 - 5:58
    with the enchanted horse.
