Workshop Drumbeat Hackasaurus
-
Yes, this was the first Hackasaurus activity here, in Citilab
-
Also my first experience as facilitator
-
We started in a quite creative way,
-
by showing the kids a magazine with ads,
-
hacked, let's say, manually, by using collage
-
and changing things, to give the idea that
-
as we change things in the real world,
-
we can also do the same in the Web...
-
We started the activity explaining X-Ray Goggles
-
how this can be used, and changing images
-
in any page we may wish
-
We had examples from Google, Wikipedia,
-
news sites, and even a bank.
-
The idea of changing the Web is something that
-
kids like a lot, and it also helps a bit
-
for viewing technology, and that
-
this technology is practically in their hands
-
One thing that can be improved in the future
-
is preparing some material for explaining kids
-
how the names work and, if they want to play at home,
-
they can do it, they can download it,
-
they can install X-Ray Goggles.
-
it's very easy
-
Also finding a way for explaining that
-
hacks cannot be viewed in other computers
-
that not all people will see them and
-
that it's an application so you can learn
-
how you can change a web page.
-
I consider that is interesting having a storyline
-
that fact that what they hacked can be presented,
-
why they did it and what they would like to change...
-
That's a challenge for the future.
-
It was very amusing and we enjoyed a lot!
-
Bye!
