What is happening in Libya and what happened yesterday is saddening.

Fighting between family, friends, and fellow Muslims is a sad thing to behold. I never though things would get this bad.

I hoped all our problems and grievances would be addressed peacefully and reasonably.

We are Muslim brothers. Our prophet is Mohamed (pbuh). We should show mercy towards each other.

A lot of Libyan blood has been spilt by this conflict. We are unto Allah, and unto him we shall return.

Describe to us your immediate surroundings and situation.

I don't know what to tell you. A number of people have besieged my home,

and as yet remain outside the house. They have not yet entered. It is calm now.

A few hours ago, there was heavy gunfire, and occasionally explosions in the immediate vicinity.

But, for now, things are calm. I hope it stays that way. I hope everyone remains safe and peaceful.

So you are in your home right now - have you been promised safety as long as you remain there?

Yes, yes I have. Thank Allah.

Do you see in that an extension of an olive branch? Do you think this is a genuine gesture?

I don't doubt it. It is a reassuring gesture. Not only to me, but to all Libyan citizens.

Thankfully, people know who Mohamed is, and they know of my good and honest conduct.

They know I have fulfilled my humanitarian duty, and my duty towards Libya.

(inaudible), but thankfully, I have many friends and colleagues.

All thanks to Allah. Mohamed is good to the Libyans.

I put great care and effort in my work, towards Allah first and foremost, and towards being a good citizen,

and being good and obedient to my parents. I hope Allah grants me success, and I thank Allah.

My situation can befall anyone. But by Allah's grace, I have avoided enmity and arrogance.

I wish only well for all Libyans, in the present and future.

You talked briefly about the sad state of affairs in Libya, and, without rubbing salt in the wound,

may I ask you who is responsible for what is happening in Libya?

Forgive me, but I am not in the best position to say.

I am not involved in state security or government. What happens in the streets is apparent to all.

The absence of reason, tolerance and broadness of mind is to blame.

I think the situation could have been solved simply and peacefully.

Mr Mohamed, the Libyan people are listening to you. If we were to ask you to speak from the heart,

and to address them as they prepare for a new era -
