Hi everybody, this is Misterduncan in England.
สวัสดีครับทุกคน นี่คือ มิสเตอร์ดันแคน ในแดนอังกฤษ

How are you today? Are you OK? I hope so!
คุณเป็นไงบ้างวันนี้? คุณสบายดีมั๊ย? ผมก็หวังว่างั้น!

Are you happy? I hope so!
คุณมีความสุขดีมั๊ย? ผมก็หวังว่างั้น!

In my last lesson
ในบทเรียนที่ผ่านมา

I talked about saying 'please' and 'thank you'.
ผมได้พูดถึง การกล่าว 'please' และ "ขอบคุณ"

Today we will look at the different ways of replying to these sentences.
วันนี้ เราจะมองที่วิธีการต่างๆ ในการตอบประโยคเหล่านี้

Making your response.
การทำการตอบกลับของคุณ

'Please' 'Thank you'

When a person asks you a question,
เมื่อมีคนถามคำถามคุณ

you will normally give a reply.
คุณจะให้คำตอบตามปกติ

A sentence with the word 'please' in it, normally needs a response.
ประโยคที่มีคำว่า 'please' ในประโยค ปกติต้องการคำตอบ

The reply can be either...
คำตอบ สามารถเป็นอย่างใดอย่างหนึ่ง...

yes, no, or maybe.
ใช่, ไม่ใช่, หรือ อาจจะ

They could also be much longer sentences,
ประโยคนั้นอาจจะยาวขึ้น

including a reason for the reply or an added condition.
เพราะใส่เหตุผลสำหรับคำตอบ หรือใส่เงื่อนไข(yes, no, หรือ maybe.)เพิ่มเข้าไป

"Please can I watch some TV?"
"กรุณาให้ชั้นดูทีวีบ้างได้มั๊ย"

"Yes, but only for an hour."
"ได้, แต่แค่ชั่วโมงเดียวนะ"

"No, you can not, you have to do your homework"
"ไม่อะ, เธอไม่สามารถ, เธอต้องทำการบ้านของเธอ"

"Maybe after dinner you can."
"อาจจะนะ หลังมื้อค่ำ เธอสามารถ(ดูทีวีได้)"

"Can I please go out with my friends?"
"กรุณาให้ผมไปข้างนอกกับเพื่อนๆได้ไหมครับ"

"Yes,you can... but be home before it gets dark."
"ได้นะ, เธอสามารถ.. แต่ถึงบ้านก่อนมันเริ่มมืดล่ะ"

"No, you can not, it is too late."
"ไม่อะ, เธอไม่สามารถอะ, มันช้าไปแล้วนะ"

"Maybe, after you have done your chores."
"อาจจะอะ, หลังจากเธอทำงานบ้านของเธอเสร็จอะนะ"

"Please may I leave the room?"
"ได้โปรดเถอะ ชั้นขอออกจากห้องได้มั๊ยอะ?"

"You may."
"เธออาจจะนะ"

"No, sorry, you may not."
"ไม่อะ, ขอโทษนะ, เธออาจจะไม่ได้(ออกจากห้อง)"

"Maybe after you have finished eating your food."
"อาจจะหลังจากเธอทานอาหารของเธอเสร็จนะ"

"Could I please have some ice cream?"
"โปรดให้ชั้นได้ไอศครีมบ้างได้มั๊ย?"

"Yes, you can, but not too much."
"ได้สิครับ, คุณสามารถ, แต่ไม่มากเกินไปนะครับ"

"No. you can't, you've had some already today."
"ไม่ได้นะ เธอไม่สามารถ เธอได้ไปบ้างแล้วนี่วันนี้"

"Maybe later, if you are good."
"อาจจะทีหลังนะ, ถ้าเธอ(ทำตัว)ดี"

Of course, you can just reply with a simple...
แน่นอน, เธอสามารถแค่ตอบง่ายๆด้วย...

'Yes' 'No' 'Maybe.'

But if you do say 'no', then the other person will probably ask...
แต่ถ้าเธอตอบ "ไม่", ดังนั้น บางทีคนอื่นอาจจะถามว่า...

"Why not?"
"ทำไมถึงไม่ล่ะ?"

Saying 'no' to someone can be a very difficult thing to do.
การตอบ "ไม่" แก่บางคน อาจะเป็นเรื่องที่ทำยากมาก

There are many different ways of responding to a request,
มีวิธีการแตกต่างมากมายเพื่อตอบต่อคำถาม

which we will be taking a closer look at in a later lesson.

Replying to 'thank you'
การตอบ "ขอบคุณ"

After you have said 'thank you'
หลังจากคุณกล่าว "ขอบคุณ"

the other person may offer you a response.
คนอื่นอาจเสนอให้คุณตอบกลับ (ให้บอกเหตุผลว่าขอบคุณอะไร)

"Thank you very much for the meal."
"ขอบคุณมากสำหรับมื้ออาหาร"

"It's my pleasure."
"มันเป็นความยินดีของชั้นน่ะ"

"Thanks a lot for letting me stay with you."
"ขอบคุณมากที่อนุญาตชั้นให้อยู่กับคุณ"

"You are very welcome."
"ยินดียิ่งนะเธอ"

"Thank you for the special award."
"ขอบคุณสำหรับรางวัลพิเศษ"

"You deserve it"
"คุณสมควรได้รับมัน"

"That was a great meal! ... cheers!"
"นั่นเป็นมื้อที่มีคุณค่า! ... ขอบคุณนะ!"

"It's quite alright."
"มันไม่เป็นไรจริงๆ"

"I appreciate your kindness...thank you so much."
"ชั้นระลึกถึงน้ำใจของคุณ..ขอบคุณมากๆ"

"The pleasure is all mine."
"ความประทับใจเป็นทั้งหมดของชั้น"

"Oh thank you for the lovely birthday present...."
"โอ้ ขอบคุณสำหรับของขวัญวันเกิดที่น่ารัก..."

"... it must have been expensive,...."
"... มันต้องแพง..."

".... oh you shouldn't have."
"... โอ้ว เธอไม่ควรจะ.."

"That's OK... "
"นั่นก็โอเค..."

"YOU ARE WORTH IT!!"
"เธอก็คู่ควรมัน!!"

Saying 'please' and 'thank you' are very simple actions,
การกล่าว 'please'และ "ขอบคุณ" เป็นการกระทำที่ง่ายมาก

and by using them, you are showing that you are a polite person,
และด้วยการใช้คำเหล่านี้, คุณก็แสดงออกว่าคุณเป็นคนสุภาพ

who is willing to show respect to other people,
เป็นคนมีใจจะแสดงความเคารพให้เกียรติต่อผู้อื่น

which... is quite a nice thing really.
ซึ่ง.. เป็นเรื่องที่ดีอย่างแท้จริง จริงๆ
