How are you today? Are you OK? I hope so!

Are you happy? I hope so!
คุณมีความสุขดีมั๊ย? ผมก็หวังว่างั้น!

In this lesson, we will look at two actions,which many of us do,
ในบทนี้, เราจะมุ่งที่ 2 การกระทำ, ที่พวกเราส่วนมากทำกัน

although maybe not as often as we should.
แม้ว่าบางที อาจไม่บ่อยเท่าที่เราควรจะใช้ (คำเหล่านี้)

Today we will talk about saying...
วันนี้ เราจะพูดถึงเรื่อง การพูด...

"Please" and "Thank you"
"กรุณา" และ "ขอบคุณ"

saying "Please" and "Thank you"
การกล่าวคำ "กรุณา" และ "ขอบคุณ"

saying "Please"

We usually say "Please" when asking for something,
ปกติ เราจะกล่าวคำว่า "กรุณา" เมื่อขอบางอย่าง

or as a polite (nice) way of saying yes to an offer.
หรือ เป็น วิธีตอบรับข้อเสนออย่างสุภาพ

"Please, can I watch some TV?"
กรุณาให้ชั้นดูทีวีบ้างได้ไหม?

"Can I please go out to play?"
กรุณาให้ชั้นไปเล่นข้างนอกได้ไหม?

"May I please leave the room?"
กรุณาอนุญาตให้ชั้นออกจากห้องได้ไหม?

"Could I please have some icecream?"
กรุณาให้ชั้นได้ไอศครีมได้ไหม?

"Would you like some icecream?"
รับไอศครีมไหม?

"Oh yes please!"
โอ้ รับครับ ได้โปรด!

"Do you want something to eat?"
คุณจะทานอะไรไหม?

"Yes, I would, please!"
ทานครับ ได้โปรด!

"Can I offer you a cup of coffee?"
ให้ผมให้กาแฟคุณแก้วนึงได้มั๊ย?

"Oh! please, that would be great! "
โอ้ !กรุณาเถอะครับ นั่นจะวิเศษเลยครับ!

The word please can be used to show satisfaction and pleasure.
คำว่า please สามารถใช้เพื่อแสดงความพึงพอใจและความยินดี

"I'm pleased with my new house!"
ผมมีความสุขกับบ้านใหม่ของผม!

"This job pleases me."
ชั้นพอใจในงานนี้

"Your music gives me pleasure."
ดนตรีของเธอ ทำให้ชั้นพึงใจ

"I'm very pleased to meet you."
ขั้นยินดีมากที่ได้พบเธอ

From those few examples you can see that
จากตัวอย่างนิดหน่อย เธอเห็นได้ว่า

"please" and "pleasure" are closely related in origin
คำว่า "please" และ "pleasure" มีที่มาเกี่ยวข้องสัมพันธ์กันอย่างใกล้ชิด

but are sometimes used in completely different ways.
แต่บางครั้งถูกใช้ในทางที่แตกต่างกันโดยสิ้นเชิง

If something makes you pleased,
ถ้าบางอย่างทำให้เธอพึงใจ

you can say that you feel...
เธอสามารถ พูดว่า เธอรู้สึก ...

'Uplifted' (ยกให้ลอย)

'Perked'

'Chuffed'

'Gladdened'

'Overjoyed'

'Over the moon'

Saying 'Thank you'
พูด ขอบคุณ

The action of saying 'Thank you'
การแสดงการกล่าวขอบคุณ

is seen as the most polite way of showing
ถูกมองว่าเป็นวิธีที่สุภาพที่สุดที่จะแสดงออก

how grateful you are for receiving something
ว่าคุณประทับใจยังไงที่ได้รับบางอย่าง

or as a way of acknowledging an act of kindness.
หรือเป็นวิธีตอบรับการแสดงออกถึงน้ำใจ

We say 'thank you' to show our appreciation.
เรากล่าว ขอบคุณ เพื่อแสดงความระลึกถึงบุญคุณ

By saying 'thank you', you...
ด้วยการกล่าว ขอบคุณ คุณ

Show your gratitude.
ได้แสดงออกถึงความกตัญญู หรือระลึกถึงบุญคุณ

You express your appreciation.
คุณได้แสดงออกถึงความระลึกถึงบุญคุณ

You acknowledge the kindness.
คุณรับรู้ถึงน้ำใจ

You return the generosity verbally.
คุณตอบแทนความใจกว้างนั้น ด้วยวาจา

You offer your sincerest thanks.
คุณได้ให้คำขอบคุณอย่างจริงใจที่สุด

You are grateful.
คุณรู้คุณคน

There are many ways to say 'thank you'
การกล่าวขอบคุณ ทำได้หลายแบบ

'Thank you' ขอบคุณนะ

"Thank you very much." ขอบคุณมากๆ

"Thanks a lot." ขอบคุณมากๆ

"Thank you so much." ขอบคุณมากๆ

"Thanks a bundle." ขอบคุณมากๆ

"You are too kind." คุณมีน้ำใจมากๆ

"Thanks ever such a lot." ขอบคุณมากที่สุด

"Cheers!" เชียรส์

"Ta very much!" ขอบคุณมาก

Sometimes, we may express surprise and joy,
บางครั้ง เราอาจแสดงความเซอร์ไพรส์และปลาบปลื้ม

as well as showing our thanks.
พร้อมๆกับการแสดงความขอบคุณ

"Wow! how kind... thank you!" ว๊าว! ช่างมีน้ำใจ ขอบคุณครับ!

"That's good of you... cheers!" นั่นดีกับเธอ เชียร์ส์

"I don't know what to say... thanks a lot!" ชั้นไม่รู้จะพูดอะไร ขอบคุณมากๆนะ

"I'm overwhelmed... thank you so much!" ชั้นตื้นตัน.. ขอบคุณมากๆเลย!

"What can I say?" ชั้นจะพูดอะไรดี

"You're the best!" เธอดีที่สุดเลย!

"Thank you very much!" ขอบคุณมากๆเลย!

"This present is so nice!" ของขวัญนี่วิเศษมาก!

"Oh you shouldn't have!" โอ้ เธอไม่น่า(ลำบาก)เลย!

Oh dear...
โอ้ ที่รัก..

I appear to be in the wrong lesson...
ผมมาปรากฎตัวผิดบทน่ะ

mmm, how embarrassing...
อืมมมม, ช่างน่าอาย...

I suppose I had better go.
ผมคิดว่าผมควรจะไป ดีกว่า

Saying "Thank you" is the best way
การกล่าวขอบคุณ เป็นวิธีการที่ดีที่สุด

to show your gratitude to another person.
ที่จะแสดงความกตัญญู รู้คุณ ต่อคนอื่น

It is a polite thing to do.
เป็นการกระทำที่สุภาพ

To acknowledge someone's kindness is a nice thing to do.
การตอบแทนความมีน้ำใจเป็นการกระทำที่ดี

And don't forget...
และ อย่าลืม

...kindness creates more kindness.
น้ำใจ สร้าง น้ำใจมากขึ้น
