This video shows an individual that was involved in the shooting of the "Peaceful march onto Benghazi" in which youth from Baniwalid were killed. The government blamed the revolutionaries for the deaths.

The revoltuionaries in Tripoli caught him at a check point and he confessed that he and his comrades shot at the peaceful march. And that it was orders from the Authorities.

This soldier was captured by the revolutionaries and asked that his face be covered. That was his requirement for confessing to "truths that will shock everyone" according to him.

Soldier: "I was in the Ben Jawad Area and then they came along. Me and six others were taken along.."

Interviewer "What did they tell you?"

S: "They told us you have an operation"

"Some buses are coming and they are going to join the Rats (ie revolutionaries), those were their words, ok?

"They told us to shoot at them because they were armed."

"We stayed near the road.. and.. when the buses came, we shot at them"

I: "Hold on a second.. So you started shooting at them?"

S: "Yes"

I: "You don’t know who these people are who you shot?"

S: "No, I don't"

I: "do you know how many people you shot?"

S: "no, they told us that these people were going to join those in the East [of Libya]"

I: "Rats, right? Because they are Rats?"

S:"That’s what they said, not us.."

I: "ok continue.. continue.."

"Hold on a second, were they armed?"

S: "Yes, they were because they started shooting back.

The fighting was heavy and it took longer. It took a while..not too long"

I: "Did they hit any of you or not?"

S: "no, they didn’t. We retreated back to our meeting point. And after a while, we realized that it was the Peaceful March that was going [to Benghazi] and we were pawns that they used.

I think it was just an attempt to create sedition between the Libyan people, and that's it."

I: "You told us that you were in Ben Jawada and Harawa (near Sirte) and we caught you in Tripoli. What brought you here? Where are you from?"

S: "Im from BEEP"

S:"We went back to our meeting point, they took us back to Tripoli. Then they said they would take us to another point but we don't know where it is. Then they gave us the third training and the group was divided"

I: "Now I want you tell us how did our fighters catch you?"

S: "We were in the BEEP area, we were at a mobile checkpoint at around 2:30 am. Fighting took place, and the guy next to me was hit and they took me straight away"

I: "How many of you were there?"

S:"There were three of us"

I: "What happened to the third one?"

S: "I don't know. When the shooting started he ran away"

I:"Do you have anything else you would like to say?"

S: "I would like to say to the soldiers still fighting at the front lines, that they should take a look at what they are doing and in the end they are killing their brothers"
